On October 23, 2026, the Almaty City Digitalization Department, in partnership with Almaty Hub, held an event entitled “Cyber Hygiene: Protection in the Digital World.” The event brought together more than 180 participants and focused on information security, digital literacy, and personal data protection.
The main objective was to raise residents’ awareness of modern cyber threats, explain how to prevent them, and promote a culture of safe digital technology use.
During the event, experts from MSSP.GLOBAL, Kaspersky, and the Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyber Attacks (ЦАРКА) discussed phishing, phone scams, social engineering, and the risks of personal data breaches. Participants also received practical recommendations on using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, identifying suspicious links, and protecting confidential information.
The experts emphasized that digital security depends not only on technology but also on the responsibility of each user. Following basic cyber hygiene practices helps protect personal data, reduce the risk of fraud, and ensure safer use of online services.
Events like this contribute to improving digital literacy, developing the skills needed to recognize cyber threats, and sharing practical knowledge in the field of information security.
The Almaty City Digitalization Department will continue its efforts to promote digital literacy, raise residents’ awareness of emerging cyber threats, and foster a safer digital environment. Particular attention will be given to protecting citizens’ personal data and encouraging responsible use of digital services.
