The Department of State Revenues for the city of Astana reminds participants in foreign economic activity that the procedure for completing the goods declaration is established by Decision No. 257 of the Commission of the Customs Union dated May 20, 2010.
One of the important boxes of the goods declaration is Box 31, “Cargo Packages and Description of Goods.” The information specified in this box is required for the identification and classification of goods, determination of customs duties and taxes, and the performance of customs control.
When completing the box, it is necessary to indicate the full name of the goods, information about the manufacturer (if available), trademark, brand, model, item number, technical specifications, and other information that allows the goods to be unambiguously identified.
The Department of State Revenues for the city of Astana emphasizes that the completeness and accuracy of the information declared contribute to proper customs clearance. Violation of the procedure for completing the goods declaration entails administrative liability in accordance with Article 535 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Administrative Offenses.”
