Almaty, August 21, 2026 - Ambassador-at-Large – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty Zhanibek Abdrashov received a mission of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), headed by the Acting Chairman of the TURKPA Commission on Education, Culture, Social and Humanitarian Affairs, Member of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyzstan, Uluqbek Karybek uulu, to observe the elections of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The delegation of international observers also included a Member of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and a Member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming elections, as well as the conduct of an open and transparent electoral process in accordance with national legislation and international obligations.
The mission representatives expressed their appreciation for the support provided and reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation within the TURKPA frameworks.
